Dysfunctional Friday: The Longest-Running Monthly Comedy Show in Chico

If you’re looking for an unforgettable night of comedy in Chico, California, look no further than Dysfunctional Friday. Held on the last Friday of every month at Bidwell Perk, this is officially the longest-running monthly comedy show in town, and for good reason! In fact, November 2026 will mark its incredible 2nd anniversary. Every month the show sells out, or comes close to it, so get your tickets in advance if you want to see it!

The show is the brainchild of show producer and comedian, “Pistol Packin’” Jessy Jaymes. Jessy is a stand-up comic, musician, and actor based right here in Chico. Known for her raunchy, off-the-cuff performing style, she seamlessly weaves personal identity, local politics, and unfiltered humor into her routines. She’s built a truly special grassroots comedy showcase for our community.

Every month, Jessy hosts the show and brings in phenomenal comedic talent from all over the West Coast—including the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Redding, Oregon, and more. It’s a fantastic opportunity to see regional headliners and up-and-coming features without having to leave Chico.

This Month’s Lineup: Friday, August 28th
